Flooring, Bathroom & Kitchen Surfaces in Gilbert, AZ

RDC Renovation & Design Concepts is a flooring, bathroom, and countertop remodeling company serving Gilbert, Arizona. Gilbert is one of the Valley's most family-focused communities, known for top-rated schools and master-planned neighborhoods like Val Vista Lakes, Power Ranch, and Morrison Ranch. Homes range from established properties near downtown Gilbert to newer construction throughout the town's rapidly developed east side.

Gilbert Has the Newest Housing Stock We Work In, and That Changes Everything

Most of our Phoenix work involves undoing something old: a 1965 slab that has moved, tile from 1985, a bathroom that has not been touched since it was built. Gilbert is the opposite problem. A large share of the town went up between roughly 2000 and 2014, which means the houses are not worn out. They were simply finished to a builder's budget.

That makes Gilbert projects a different conversation. There is rarely major slab repair, rarely hidden water damage, rarely a demolition surprise. What there is instead is a house with a good structure and entry-level finishes: builder-grade carpet through the living areas, 12×12 tile in the wet rooms, laminate countertops or the cheapest tier of granite, and a fiberglass shower surround in the primary bathroom.

Upgrading those is a smaller, cleaner, more predictable job than a genuine renovation, and it is most of what we do here.

Why Gilbert Homeowners Choose RDC

Gilbert homeowners expect clean, professional work and clear communication, especially with kids and pets in the house during a project. RDC plans every Gilbert job around your family's schedule, with free in-home estimates and a 1-year workmanship warranty.

The Four Builder-Grade Upgrades Worth Doing First

If the house is from the 2000s and structurally sound, these four changes deliver the most visible difference for the money, roughly in order of impact.

  • Carpet to hard flooring through the main level. The single biggest visual change in an open-plan house, and the one families with kids and pets ask for most. Rigid-core luxury vinyl is waterproof, scratch-resistant and warmer underfoot than tile.
  • The primary shower. Swapping a builder fiberglass surround for a real tile shower with proper waterproofing behind it changes the room completely. This is a genuine construction job, not a surface swap, and it is where the waterproofing system actually matters.
  • Countertops, keeping the cabinets. If the cabinetry is sound, replacing only the counters and adding a backsplash is dramatically cheaper than a full kitchen. RDC does kitchen surfaces, not cabinetry, and this is exactly that scope.
  • Backsplash. The smallest of the four by cost, and often the one that makes a builder kitchen stop reading as a builder kitchen.

Because these homes are newer, the estimate tends to hold. There is far less that can be hiding under a 2006 floor than under a 1966 one.

What Surfaces Cost in Gilbert

Installed pricing is the same across everywhere we work. What actually moves a total is the material, the size of the run, and how much preparation the existing subfloor needs.

MaterialInstalled, per sq ft
Carpet (bedrooms, stairs)$3 – $7
Laminate$4 – $8
Luxury vinyl plank$4 – $9
Porcelain / ceramic tile$7 – $18
Engineered hardwood$8 – $16
Quartz countertops$50 – $120
Granite countertops$45 – $100

Please note: these are typical ranges, not quotes. Prices can change, and final pricing is set individually for each customer, based on the material selected, the condition of the subfloor, the layout, and how much demolition and prep is involved. The only accurate number is a written estimate after we measure.

Start at the Showroom

Every Gilbert project starts the same way: full-size samples side by side at 1610 E Bell Rd Suite 101, Phoenix, in real light, instead of choosing from a photograph. From there we measure at your home and put a written itemized estimate in front of you covering material, removal, prep and installation together.

RDC is fully insured, installation is performed by the licensed installers we work with on every job, and every project carries a 1-year workmanship warranty. You deal with us throughout, not with a subcontractor.

See completed work in the project gallery, read about the Bell Road showroom, or compare the brands we carry.

Gilbert Renovation Questions

Yes. We provide free in-home estimates across Gilbert, with a written, itemized quote before any work begins.

We install flooring (LVP, tile, hardwood, carpet), complete full bathroom remodels, and install kitchen tile, backsplash, and countertops for homeowners throughout Gilbert.

Yes. Every Gilbert project includes a 1-year workmanship warranty, and we're fully insured.

Most flooring projects take 1-3 days, bathroom remodels 1-3 weeks, and countertop installations 3-7 days including templating and fabrication. We provide a specific timeline with your free estimate.

It is usually the best kind of project to take on, because you are not repairing anything. A large share of Gilbert went up between roughly 2000 and 2014, so the houses are not worn out, they were finished to a builder's budget. That typically means builder-grade carpet through the living areas, 12x12 tile in the wet rooms, entry-level countertops and a fiberglass shower surround. Upgrading those is smaller, cleaner and far more predictable than a genuine renovation, and the estimate tends to hold because there is much less that can be hiding under a 2006 floor than under a 1966 one.

Replacing builder carpet with hard flooring through the main level, by a clear margin, especially in an open-plan house where one material runs through living, dining and kitchen. Rigid-core luxury vinyl is the usual choice for families because it is waterproof, scratch-resistant and warmer underfoot than tile. After that, in order: swapping the builder fiberglass shower surround for a real tile shower, replacing countertops while keeping sound cabinets, and adding a backsplash.

Yes, and it is one of the most common projects we do in Gilbert. If the cabinetry is sound there is no reason to pay for a full kitchen renovation. New countertops plus a backsplash, and new flooring if you want it, is a substantially smaller job. To be direct about scope: RDC does kitchen surfaces and not cabinetry. If you want the cabinets replaced or refaced, that is a different trade and we will say so rather than take the job.

All of them, and the work does differ. Power Ranch was developed between 2000 and 2014 across 11 smaller neighborhoods, so it is mostly builder-grade upgrades. Seville was built between 2001 and 2020 and tends toward higher-tier material and primary bathroom rebuilds. Agritopia is built around a working organic farm with Craftsman-style homes, where material choice should suit the detailing rather than fight it. Morrison Ranch spans multiple sub-phases with consistent architectural standards. The Heritage District downtown is older housing and behaves more like a conventional renovation.

They are different products. A fiberglass or acrylic surround is a moulded part fitted into the space, low-maintenance with no grout, and often installed over the existing surface. A tile shower is built in place: removed to the studs, the pan formed and sloped, a waterproof membrane applied across every surface and corner, then tile set on top. It takes one to three weeks instead of days and costs more, but you get any size, any layout, a genuinely flat curbless entry if you want one, and benches and niches built into the structure. If the fast option genuinely suits you better, we will say so.
