Two Local Conditions Worth Planning Around
High-desert sun. Rooms placed for the views take hours of direct sun a day. Porcelain and stone are unaffected by it and stay cool underfoot. Engineered wood is workable, but color choice and window treatment matter more in a room with a wall of west-facing glass than they would elsewhere.
Hard well water. Parts of the area are on well water, which is typically very hard. In a shower that means ordinary grout and unsealed stone start showing mineral deposits within months, so we use epoxy or professionally sealed grout as standard practice rather than an upgrade line on the estimate.
Single-Room Work, Not Only Whole-Home Projects
Whole-home desert builds are part of the work, but so is one room done properly: a primary bath taken back to the studs, a stone fireplace surround, or a kitchen where the cabinetry is staying and only the surfaces change. That last one is worth stating plainly. RDC does kitchen surfaces, not cabinetry. If your cabinets are solid and you want new countertops, a new backsplash and new flooring, that is a substantially smaller project than a full kitchen renovation, and it is exactly the scope we handle.

In a home you may only occupy part of the year, how a project is run and reported matters as much as how it is built. This is the process every project follows, and the standard we hold on site.
- Showroom and samples. It starts at the Bell Road showroom, where you compare full-size materials side by side in real light rather than from a photo.
- Site visit and measure. We come to the house, measure, and check what moves a price here: slab and subfloor condition, moisture, and level changes across the lot.
- Written itemized proposal. One document covering material, removal, prep, fabrication and installation together, with nothing left to "we'll see on site."
- Scheduling. Dates agreed in advance, sequenced around your calendar whether you are in town or out of state, or around a builder's program.
- One point of contact. You deal with RDC throughout, not a rotating set of subs. You always know who to call and who is in your home.
- Weekly update, with photos. Progress, what is next, and anything that needs a decision, with photos for owners who are away.
- Final walkthrough and punch list. We walk the finished work with you and close every item on a written punch list before the job is called done.
