RDC Renovation & Design Concepts is a flooring and bathroom remodeling company in Phoenix, Arizona. It sells and installs flooring, tile and countertops from its Bell Rd showroom and manages each remodel through one contract.
Key takeaways
- RDC remodels floors in every room, bathrooms and showers, and kitchen surfaces, and it sells the materials for all of them.
- RDC does not install kitchen cabinets, roofing, HVAC or windows.
- A 1,500 sq ft home with new LVP, a tub-to-shower conversion and quartz counters plus a backsplash comes to $23,050 to $44,100 at RDC.
What's the Difference Between Remodeling and Renovating?
Remodeling changes the structure, style or form of a room, while renovating restores it to good condition. That is how the Collins English Dictionary separates the two words. Most RDC projects in Phoenix are a little of both. A new floor or a rebuilt shower in the same layout changes the look and restores the room at once.
Collins defines remodel as "to change or alter the structure, style, or form of (something)". It defines renovate as "to restore (something) to good condition" (Dictionary.com, British entries). The label matters less than the scope you put in writing.

Flooring
LVP is the floor RDC installs most, at $4 to $9 per square foot installed. RDC also installs tile, natural stone, hardwood, laminate and carpet, plus LVP on stairs. Most flooring installs take one to three days. Materials, slab prep and every floor type are on the flooring installation in Phoenix page.

Bathrooms and Showers
A custom tiled tub-to-shower conversion at RDC runs $9,000 to $14,000, and a primary bathroom starts at $18,000. Each shower is built on a bonded waterproofing membrane (Schluter KERDI or RedGard). In a full bathroom remodel, RDC also supplies the vanity cabinet with its top, sink and faucets. Layouts and timelines are on the bathroom remodeling in Phoenix page.

Kitchen Surfaces and Countertops
RDC updates the surfaces of a kitchen and leaves the cabinets alone. A backsplash runs $800 to $2,500 and goes in over two to three days. A standard 55 sq ft kitchen countertop runs $2,750 to $6,600 in quartz and $2,475 to $5,500 in granite. The full surface package is on the kitchen remodeling page, and slabs are covered under countertop installation.
Countertops are fabricated by a partner fabricator, and RDC reconnects the sink. The timeline is installation in one to three days after one to three weeks of fabrication, about two to four weeks from measuring. RDC also tiles fireplace surrounds, outdoor kitchens and pool decks and patios.
How Much Should You Budget for a Home Remodel in Phoenix?
A home remodel in Phoenix with RDC is budgeted room by room. Floors are priced per square foot, while bathrooms and kitchen surfaces are priced per project. A primary bathroom starts at $18,000, and a 55 sq ft quartz countertop starts at $2,750. The exact figure follows a free in-home measure.
No honest single cost per square foot covers a whole house. At RDC, the per-square-foot price applies to the floor, and the rest is priced by the room. The two examples below use only RDC's published ranges, with the math shown.
Is $50,000 Enough to Renovate a House?
Yes, $50,000 is enough for this scope at RDC. A 1,500 sq ft Phoenix home gets new LVP throughout, and one tub becomes a tiled walk-in shower. The kitchen gets quartz counters and a backsplash, for $23,050 to $44,100 before any slab leveling. Call or text (602) 788-1446 to price your own rooms.

| Line | Math at RDC's published prices | Range |
|---|---|---|
| New LVP, 1,500 sq ft | 1,500 × $4 to $9 | $6,000 to $13,500 |
| Removing the old floor | 1,500 × $3 to $5 | $4,500 to $7,500 |

| Total | $6,000 + $4,500 + $9,000 + $2,750 + $800 / $13,500 + $7,500 + $14,000 + $6,600 + $2,500 | $23,050 to $44,100 |
| If the slab needs leveling throughout | add 1,500 × $1 to $4 | add $1,500 to $6,000 |
Is $100,000 Enough to Renovate a House?
$100,000 can be enough at RDC, depending on the material and the primary bathroom. In this example, a 2,000 sq ft home gets large-format porcelain, a primary bathroom, a second tub-to-shower conversion and quartz counters with a backsplash. It starts at about $60,550. The fixed lines top out at $77,100 before the primary bathroom, which is priced after measuring.

| Subtotal of the lines above | $24,000 + $6,000 + $9,000 + $3,550 / $44,000 + $10,000 + $14,000 + $9,100 | $42,550 to $77,100 |
| Primary bathroom | published starting price | from $18,000 |
| Project starts at | $42,550 + $18,000 | about $60,550 |
Both examples cover only RDC's scope. They leave out kitchen cabinets, roofing, HVAC, windows and any other work RDC does not do.
What Changes the Price of a Home Remodel?
The price of a home remodel at RDC moves with six things: square footage, material, removal, slab prep, tile pattern and shower design. Each one has a published number below. You can see before the measure which choices push the total up and which keep it down.
- Square footage. Floors are priced per square foot, so 2,000 sq ft costs a third more than 1,500 sq ft in the same material.
- Material. The same room runs from $4 per square foot in LVP to $25 in natural stone.
- Removing the old floor. $3 to $5 per square foot for carpet, LVP, laminate, tile or Saltillo. Tile removal takes 1 to 4 days.
- Slab prep and leveling. $1 to $4 per square foot, depending on how far out of flat the slab is.
- Pattern. A herringbone or diagonal layout adds 10% to 20% to the installation labor.
- Shower design. A curbless entry usually adds about $3,000, depending on the existing floor and drain. Merging a garden or jetted tub into one large shower adds about $3,000 to $5,000.
Baseboards on a flooring job and removing an old countertop are quoted as their own lines. Moving furniture and appliances, and pulling and resetting toilets, are part of the flooring job. Typical times and prices for each project type are below.

| Porcelain tile | $9 to $18 per sq ft | About 1,200 sq ft: one to two weeks |
| Natural stone or travertine | $12 to $25 per sq ft | Set in the written estimate |
| Tub-to-shower conversion | $9,000 to $14,000 | 5 to 8 working days, 2 to 3 more if the drain moves |
| Small bathroom remodel | From $9,000 | 5 to 8 days |

Home Remodeling in Phoenix: Heat, Hard Water, Home Age and Permits
Home remodeling in Phoenix is shaped by four local facts: Arizona heat, hard water, home age and the City of Phoenix permit rules. Each one changes what a remodel should include. Each is sourced below, with what RDC does about it.
Arizona heat: The National Weather Service puts Phoenix's 1991-2020 average at 111 days a year at or above 100°F. RDC installs floating floors with the expansion gap the manufacturer specifies. Floor choices for the heat are compared in the guide to the best flooring for Arizona heat.
Home age: The median Phoenix home was built in 1985. Of all Phoenix homes, 19% date from the 1970s, 17% from the 1980s and 13% from the 1990s (U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020-2024, tables B25034 and B25035). A house from that era may still have its first tile floor and a tub-and-shower combination.
Hard water: The City of Phoenix 2025 Water Quality Report lists 10 to 17.6 grains per gallon of hardness. The city notes that hard water can scale fixtures "such as faucets and showerheads". RDC chooses the grout for each area, cement-based, sealed or epoxy, with the hard water in mind. More in the Phoenix hard water guide.
Permits: The City of Phoenix residential permit page lists new flooring and replacing existing fixtures as work without a permit. It requires permits to move or add sinks, toilets and tubs, for electrical updates, and for wall removals. When a permit is needed, the licensed subcontractor doing that work pulls it. Other Valley cities run their own permit offices.

Home Remodeling in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Mesa and Peoria
RDC uses one price table across the Valley; what changes from city to city is the house. The home-age figures below are from the U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020-2024. Each city has its own RDC page with the local detail.
Scottsdale
The median Scottsdale home was built in 1991, and 58% date from 1970 to 1999. RDC's Scottsdale work includes white-oak-look LVP through a two-story home, a quartz waterfall island and a curbless shower beside a freestanding tub. See home renovation and remodeling in Scottsdale.
Paradise Valley
The median Paradise Valley home was built in 1985, with 49% built from 1970 to 1999. On a new custom home there, RDC supplied and installed the flooring throughout, the bathroom tile and the natural stone surfaces. See Paradise Valley flooring, tile and stone.
Mesa
Mesa has the largest share of homes from 1970 to 1999 of the four cities, at 61%, with a median year built of 1989. RDC's Mesa work includes gray LVP through a whole house, granite countertop kitchens and commercial LVP for a Trust Auto dealership. See bathroom remodeling and home renovation in Mesa.
Peoria
Peoria is the newest of the four, with a median year built of 1999 and 50% built from 1970 to 1999. In Peoria, lowering a shower step or curb is the request RDC hears most. See tile installation and walk-in showers in Peoria and flooring in Peoria.

How Do You Choose the Best Remodeler in Phoenix?
For floors, bathrooms and kitchen surfaces, RDC Renovation & Design Concepts is a Phoenix remodeler that puts six things in writing. Those are its insurance, who performs each trade, an itemized scope, full-size material, its warranty and real local projects. Hold every bid you get, RDC's included, to the same six checks.
- Insurance, and who carries it. Ask for the carriers' names. RDC is fully insured: business coverage through Insurance Concepts & Risk Management LLC, and employee and job-site coverage through Central Insurance.
- Who performs each trade. Ask who does the tile, the plumbing and the electrical, and which license covers each. At RDC, the licensed installers RDC works with install, and licensed plumbing partners and electricians do their trades.
- A written, itemized scope. Material, removal, prep and installation sit on separate lines before work starts.
- Full-size material. A small chip hides what a plank or a slab looks like across a room, so compare full-size samples.
- The warranty, in writing. RDC's 1-year workmanship warranty sits on top of the manufacturer's material warranty.
- Real local projects. Ask for photos labeled with their real city. RDC's project gallery shows finished Valley homes, and RDC is Rated 5.0 on Google.

Luxury Home Remodeling in Phoenix
Luxury home remodeling in Phoenix at RDC means surfaces chosen for how they look and how they last. Natural stone runs $12 to $25 per square foot installed, and large-format porcelain (24x48 inches and larger) runs $12 to $22. Book-matched slabs are picked at the showroom. Spa bathrooms are priced after measuring.
If you are comparing luxury home remodelers in Phoenix, look at what each one actually builds. RDC's high-end work is surfaces and bathrooms, planned around the finish:
- Natural stone floors, shower walls and vanity tops, sealed at installation. A 55 sq ft marble kitchen countertop runs $4,400 to $9,900, and quartzite $5,500 to $11,000.
- Large-format porcelain for open living areas with few grout lines.
- Spa bathrooms with freestanding tubs, curbless walk-in showers and frameless glass. On request, RDC adds a heated floor or a steam shower together with a licensed specialist subcontractor.
- Book-matched slabs, two neighboring slabs laid so the veining meets as a mirror image at the seam.

Custom Home Renovations in Phoenix: Rooms Planned Together
Custom home renovations in Phoenix work best when the floors, bathrooms and kitchen surfaces are planned as one project. At RDC that means one showroom visit, one in-home measure, one itemized estimate and one schedule. A single RDC contact runs the job from start to finish.
- Choose together. Plank, tile and countertop slabs are compared side by side, so the floor, the shower tile and the counters work as one palette.
- Measure once. RDC measures every room in one visit and checks the slab, the doorways and where one floor meets the next.
- One written estimate. Every room sits on one itemized document, so the total is clear before work starts.
- Sequence the trades. The wet work in the bathrooms comes before the new floors, and shower glass goes in about a week after the tile.
- Documented progress. Photos are shared through the job, which helps when you are away during the work.
